2001: Gatepath Children Services begins participation in Stanford University project on premature children. Poplar ReCare becomes Community Gatepath.

2003: Gatepath launches PigMillion Possibilities.
 Community Gatepath Celebrates 90 Years in San Mateo County

2006: Learning Links Preschool & the Niall P. McCarthy Center for Children and Families opens its doors to provide inclusive education and programs.

2009: Launching of www.AbilityPath.org; an online resource center for people with disabilities, their families and professionals.

2010: Community Gatepath celebrates its 90th anniversary!
Disabilities 2000: CA Regional center system is in financial crisis. The late 90s saw an increase in regional center funding for specified purposes but the cuts imposed in early 90s were never restored. Centers face unfunded mandates, rising expectations of consumers and families, inability to retain adequate staff

2000: Despite unprecedented state and federal budget surplus, regional center system still in crisis from cuts imposed in 1990's.
Key Legislature, Hearings and Court Decisions 2000: The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 requires at least 60% of the Council to be individuals with developmental disabilities.

2006: On December 13, 2006, the UN formally agreed on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; the first human rights treaty of the 21st Century to protect an estimated 650 million people with disabilities in the world.
