Pediatric Physical Therapist - Part-time

Immediate Supervisor: Early Intervention Services Manager
Supervision Exercised: none

Summary:

As part of the Children’s Services team, the Physical Therapist serves children from birth to age three and their families, with an emphasis on overall development, particularly gross motor development.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide teaching sessions (group and individual)
• Case management
• Conduct assessments and write reports
• Ongoing parent education and support
• Participate in provision of each child’s IFSP: interagency collaboration
• In conjunction with family, responsible for the development and implementation of individual program goals
• Oversee child’s integration into the community adhering to program objectives while maintaining a safe environment
• Must comply with applicable policies, i.e., Community Gatepath Safety Policies, CARF accreditation standards, Community Care Licensing, CAL-OSHA, etc.
• Comply with participant rights, Community Gatepath program policies and procedures, and quality assurance standards
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Activity Requirements:

• Ability to physically manage children (up to 40 lbs)-carrying; positioning - frequently
• Ability to sit at a computer for 1-2 hours - occasionally
• General Housekeeping - occasionally

Education/Experience:

• One year experience in a pediatric setting
• B.S. or M.S. degree from accredited institution for training in Physical Therapy
• Organization, communication, writing skills
• Knowledge of see sign; willingness to learn
• Ability to function as part of a team
• High energy, enthusiasm, self motivation

Licensing Requirements:

• Registration with the Physical Therapy Board of California
• Valid CA drivers license
• CPR Certification/First Aid Training

Training Requirements:

  • Required to complete a minimum of ten (10) hours of training or continuing education as directed and approved by the CEO and the CFO
  • Behavioral management/intervention

  • Confidentiality procedures
  • Abuse reporting
