Vocational Skills Assessor (Temp, Full-Time)

Immediate Supervisor: Employment Services Manager

Summary:

The Assessment Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of the vocational assessment and support training services provided by the organization including external situational assessment, personal and social adjustment, internal testing and assessment, job exploration, educational classes and the computer training lab.

Essential Functions:

* Plan, schedule, conduct and supervise assessments and classes as assigned or referred
* Hire, supervise, train and discipline assigned staff
* Write and disseminate reports and assessment results according to referring agency or Community Gatepath requirements and timelines.
* Serve as member of participant Service Team
* Serve as direct liaison to Adult Ed computer training instructor
* Develop and implement referral forms, assessment reports, and class curricula as needed.
* Based upon assessment results and class participation, as well as participant interests, make individualized participant program and service recommendations and participate as needed, in IHC development process
* Responsible for implementation and meeting reporting requirements for assigned grants
* Coordinate satisfaction survey implementation and prepare required summaries and reports
* Develop and monitor objectives related to  assessment,  education, and computer lab and class training
* Liaison to department of Rehabilitation and Golden Gate Regional Center on assessment referrals or issues
* Research, obtain, or create new or expanded assessment tools or techniques as needed
* Ensure prompt and accurate billing of assessment services
* Comply with participant rights, Community Gatepath program policies, procedures and quality assurance standards
* Compliance with applicable agency safety, and government policies, procedures and requirements
* Other duties as assigned

Physical Activity Requirements:

* Ability to assist frail persons  occasionally
* Ability to sit and keyboard – frequently
* Ability to kneel, bend, reach, push – occasionally
* Ability to stand and walk – constantly
* Ability to lift 50 lbs. - occasionally

Education/Experience:

* Excellent oral and written skills
* Demonstrates ability to effectively supervise others
* Knowledge and understanding of the principles of assessment and instruction
* Working knowledge of computers, word processing and spreadsheet programs
* Demonstrates organizational skills
* Positive outlook, enthusiasm, self motivated and high energy
* Ability to function as part of a team

Licensing Requirements:

* Valid California driver’s license and personal vehicle available for work
* CPR and First Aid certificate
* Must be able to pass medical screening and TB test
* Ability to obtain criminal clearance

Training Requirements:

* Required to complete a minimum of ten (10) hours of training or continuing education as directed and approved by the CEO and the CFO
