Betty Ivey Lange Technology Library

On July 12, 2012, a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony was held for the newest addition to Gatepath’s service portfolio, The Betty Ivey Lange Technology Library housed at the McCarthy Center for Children & Families.  The Library was made possible through the generosity of former board member, Eivind G. Lange, in memory of his late wife - Betty.  Betty was an extraordinary woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.  She was active in many community groups and had much compassion for those less fortunate and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

The library offers one-on-one therapy sessions, parent education and group instruction as well as housing a lending library of assistive technology, such as computers and iPads with programs augmenting speech and motor skills for children with special needs. Children and their therapists are able to trial alternative assistive communication (AAC) devices while parents can observe if their child can benefit from equipment that they are considering purchasing.

The Betty Ivey Lange Technology Library offers free workshops throughout the year for parents of children with special needs.
